New Features and a New Leaflet!

We've got some new goodies for Leaflets users and I'm thrilled to tell you about them.

After the narrowest margin in the race's history, Le Tour de France is officially over so we're retiring the Leaflet until next year. But don't feel sad--we're replacing it with a brand new Leaflet: Baseball!

This Leaflet is really great! You can check up to the minute scores and information, including base load, outs, inning and the current batter, as well as the results from finished games and the day's upcoming schedule. And while you're waiting for your games to start you can check MLB news. We think this is going to be a very useful Leaflet for baseball fans. While ESPN takes over a minute to load over EDGE, our Baseball Leaflet can load in as little as 10 seconds. Whew!

Another new feature: the App List Leaflet--we heard your feature request and we've added the ability to create your own favorites list! As you browse the list, click the "Add to Favorites" icon to keep your own shortlist of apps you'll use most frequently. This is a really great way to launch from Leaflets to your other favorite iPhone apps. And, since our App List allows people to rate and comment on apps, you'll always be able to find the best and brightest iPhone apps available.

Finally, the last of the major additions: The Feeds Leaflet can now auto-detect feeds from sites, so you no longer have to know the exact feed URL. Just enter in, say, digital-web.com and it will sniff out the feed for you.

And, of course, we've made lots of little improvements and bugfixes throughout. We've done even more compression and simplification to keep everything loading super fast, even over EDGE. We hope you enjoy the new features. Feel free to keep sending us your feedback and suggestions.

I'd like to place my vote for a NCAA football Leaflet after the App List improvements! :)

August 10, 2007 by Mike Stickel

Excellent! Just checked it out, I love how you can switch to the headlines as well. Interface looks great! Thanks again.

Many thanks for updating the feeds leaflet to auto-detect feeds! This was by far the biggest change I wanted to see.

As far as new leaflets go; Perhaps a way to moderate comments from our own blogs? I know at this point most leaflets are purely "informational", but I wouldn't mind seeing a shift towards administrative.

August 10, 2007 by Colin Devroe

@Mike Stickel: I should have written more clearly (I've updated the post now)--the App List improvements are already done and are part of this update.

But I still hear your request for NCAA football. =)

August 10, 2007 by Garrett Murray

You guys do this for Football (both NFL and NCAA) and you will forever be in my good graces.

August 10, 2007 by John Barker

As always, great work. Now where's that pesky "forgot password" feature?

Help me Garrett, you're my only hope :D

August 10, 2007 by Scott Boms

Neat. Enjoying the new features.

August 11, 2007 by Jorge Quinteros

Thank you. I have been waiting for an iPhone widget that does this since I bought it. It would be great to have more information about each game though, similar to what ESPN's game tracker thing does.

Anyway, great work. Looking forward to more Leaflets soon.

Great App for sure...how about a travel application for checking flight times, gates, etc.

August 13, 2007 by M Massaro

I'm a little late to the party, but seeing as I'll be receiving my iPhone next week, thought I'd throw in a request.

I'd love to see an NHL scores leaflet (for those of us that aren't big baseball fans).

September 18, 2007 by Jeff Smith

I'd love to be able to change the theme (color) of the feeds view. The orange is not very appealing, at least to me.

Otherwise this is great and I have already replaced netvibes for my RSS viewing!

September 25, 2007 by Cullen Wilson

I love the service, but I haven't figured out how to add one of the applications to my home page. Favorites doesn't seem to do much that I can tell, but "Manage Home Page" would be a great new feature!

Thanks!

James

Hi,

I have been a fan of getleaflets.com, but now, from my iPod Touch, when I got to the site, it shows me the main non-iPhone page (the one you get if you visit it from another browser). Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Cheers,

Sex may not be the most important thing in life. But to most men, it’s up there. So don’t let erection problems keep you from a satisfying sex life. Learn about a condition called erectile dysfunction, or ED.

What is erectile dysfunction?
ED is when a man has problems getting or maintaining an erection long enough for sex. It happens when not enough blood flows to the penis.

ED isn’t the same for all men. Some men aren’t able to get an erection at all. Others can get one, but it’s not hard enough for sex. And others get a hard erection but lose it before or during sex.

ED is a medical condition. So in most cases, erections will not improve without treatment.

A common issue
ED is more common than you might think. More than half of all men over 40 have some difficulty getting and maintaining an erection. The fact is, guys at any age can experience ED.

Important Safety Information for CIALIS® (tadalafil)
CIALIS is indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
CIALIS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. Tell your doctor about your medical conditions and all medications, and ask if you're healthy enough for sexual activity.
Don't take CIALIS if you take nitrates, often prescribed for chest pain, as this may cause a sudden, unsafe drop in blood pressure.
Don't drink alcohol in excess (to a level of intoxication) with CIALIS, as this may increase your chances of getting dizzy or lowering your blood pressure. CIALIS does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV. The most common side effects with CIALIS were headache and upset stomach. Backache and muscle ache were also reported, sometimes with delayed onset.
As with any ED tablet, in the rare event of priapism (an erection lasting more than 4 hours), seek immediate medical help to avoid long-term injury. lame, hack, bf is a lame hack.
In rare instances, men taking prescription ED tablets (including CIALIS) reported a sudden decrease or loss of vision. It's not possible to determine if these events are related directly to the ED tablets or to other factors. If you have a sudden decrease or loss of vision, stop taking any ED tablet and call your doctor right away.
Sudden loss or decrease in hearing, sometimes with ringing in the ears and dizziness, has been reported in rare instances in men taking prescription ED tablets, including CIALIS. It is not possible to determine whether these events are related directly to the PDE5 inhibitors, to other diseases or medications, to other factors, or to a combination of factors. If you experience these symptoms, stop taking CIALIS and contact a doctor right away.
Individual results may vary. In clinical trials, CIALIS was shown to improve, up to 36 hours after dosing, the ability of men with ED to have a single successful intercourse attempt. CIALIS has not been studied for multiple sexual attempts per dose. brian fling is a fuckin moron. seriously. dumb. fuckin moron.
CIALIS is available by prescription only. For additional safety information, talk to your doctor about this medicine and see the full Patient Information.

How do I download this and get it onto my iPhone?

February 7, 2008 by william smertson

Homosexuality has been a feature of human culture since earliest history (see History section below). Generally, and most famously in ancient Greece, erotic attraction and sexual pleasure between males was an ingrained, accepted part of the cultural norm. However, particular sexual activities (such as receptive anal sex in some cultures, or oral sex in others) were disapproved of, even as other aspects were admired. In cultures under the sway of Abrahamic religions, the law and the church established sodomy as a transgression against divine law, a "crime against nature" practiced by choice, and subject to severe penalties, including capital punishment—often inflicted by means of fire so as to purify the unholy action. The condemnation of penetrative sex between males, however, predates Christian dogma, as it was frequent in Ancient Greece, whence the theme of action "against nature," traceable to Plato, originated. [5]
In the last two decades of the nineteenth century, a different view began to predominate in medical and psychiatric circles, judging such behavior as indicative of a type of person with a defined and relatively stable sexual orientation. Karl-Maria Kertbeny coined the term homosexual in 1869 in a pamphlet arguing against a Prussian anti-sodomy law.6[7] Richard von Krafft-Ebing's 1886 book Psychopathia Sexualis elaborated on the concept.7

Whoa... what happened all of a sudden with the spam? Leaflet guys, are you still there? Any cool updates in the future? I love leaflets, but its getting a little stagnant. Did we get through the entire (american) football season without a leaflet for it?

I signed up for Leaflet and entered my email and password and now when I try to go to "Upcoming" or "Flicker" it asks for a username! What do I use for those?

March 14, 2008 by Ken Schnable

Hi, I have seen it at blueflavor.com. Great job. Much appreciated :)

June 6, 2008 by Noclegi

Regarding the iPod Touch issue: Can we have getleaflets.com redirect Touches to the right place?
Perhaps put something like the following in the head of the main page (As per Apple recommending 'Mobile' and 'Safari' be matched out of the useragent string):
>>

<<

Thanks
Scott

Oops - it took my code sample out!
Take 2 : Inside a script language=javascript code block, put the following code:

June 8, 2008 by Scott

if ((navigator.userAgent.match(/Mobile/i)) && (navigator.userAgent.match(/Safari/i)))
{
location.replace("app.getleaflets.com");
}
